Pat's Blog

I guess this has been an interesting year so far! I hope that those of you who may be following me here have enjoyed my poems. The time seems to be flying, and I never seem to have enough of it now. I have started some new paintings, and did a few drawings, that hopefully in the near future I will be able to resize and upload to the website. Hopefully I will be back here soon. Hope everyone is having a happy Spring!

Sorry everyone.....it's been a long few weeks. Been sick. Anyway things are pretty much back to normal. I'm in the process of getting ready to do a new painting. I am waiting to see if I can get a better photo to work with. Hopefully it will be soon. Not much else to say except the weather's been terrible and making me hurt & Cinder my kitty(furbaby) hates storms! Since T'ger has passed Cinder doesn't like being alone. But I'm afraid since she's 12, I don't want to introduce anymore pets. It also would be hard for me to take care of them for now.

I have also added a new poem/writing for you to enjoy!

Stormy day

The storm moves with branches of lightning across the sky!
Loudly it announces it's self. Cold rain falls in sheets across the land.
A small herd of deer stand out away from the trees in the storm,
making the most of new green grass that the rain has brought.
In a large puddle on the grass two mallard ducks float enjoying the rain.
A peaceful time in the midst of the storm.

My cat speaks of soft things, toys and delicious treats!
With shining black fur and blazing green eyes.
In my lap she craves her attention, full of purrs and soft talk.
I pet her and stroke her, till she gently falls asleep.
My warm and black, shiny loving pillow. All mine her attention and love.
Always waiting, and comforting, never complaining she's my quiet haven.

Well here I sit thinking in my chair, the birds are chirping & singing at my feeders outside my window. The clouds are grey and heavy and the wind is blowing, I've been drawing a little in my everyday drawing pads.

I saw the movie" Oz the Great & Powerful" last night, I loved it! The concept of showing how the wizard got to OZ, and the first part in black & white, then continuing in color like the original "Wizard of OZ,"  is wonderfully and thoughtfully done.

Hope everyone out there is doing well!

Pat, I am relatively new to the Forum. Browsing thru your website. Your talent impresses me, watercolour and photography, esp the glow in morning glories. Tx
